The Minister for Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi, has scheduled a meeting with leaders from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the Premier League Board, Yanga, and Simba clubs to address the ongoing dispute regarding the postponement of their match in the Premier League between Yanga and Simba.
According to a statement released on Monday, March 24, 2025, the meeting will take place in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, and officials from TFF, the Premier League Board, Yanga, and Simba have been notified to attend.
While efforts to resolve the dispute through dialogue continue, Yanga has already taken the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), as they were dissatisfied with the decision by the Premier League Board to postpone the match against Simba, which was supposed to be played on March 8, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
The Premier League Board postponed the match after Simba announced that they would not play, citing restrictions that prevented them from making final preparations at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium ahead of the game.
Through various statements, Yanga's supporters have made their stance clear, instructing their leaders not to return to the field to play the match unless strict measures are taken in accordance with the established rules.
