Jean Charles Ahoua has performed excellently in his first season, and on a scale of one to ten, I would give him an 8.5.
It's difficult for players of his type to adapt to a team's system quickly, considering this is his first season and he's still a young player at 23 years old. With 10 goals and 7 assists, Jean is a modern player for his position. Many players are being trained to play like him, almost like robots, because a lot of what he does on the field is a result of his training in practice. Penalties, set pieces, corner kicks, and free kicks are all things he practices, and on the field, he performs many fundamental tasks as a playmaker.
Jean is not very creative in his style of play, but that's not his fault. His play is based on two-touch football, meaning he's always in the right place at the right time, following the coach’s instructions. Nowadays, no player is given the freedom to be creative, as tactics come first, and skills follow.
Fadlu doesn't seem to mind too much when Jean loses the ball in matches that require physical strength because it's not his responsibility. It's tough to find playmakers (number tens) who make you enjoy watching a team play, as the current trend in football is very tactic-driven.
Jean is currently the best player at Simba. He's doing exactly what is expected of him, and he’s doing it well.
